ANNOTATEAI LEGAL & TRUST

Terms & Conditions

Effective 30 June 2026. These terms govern all access to and use of AnnotateAI, operated by AnnotateAI Technologies Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California.

Welcome to AnnotateAI. By registering for, accessing, or using our platform, browser tools, AI copilot engines, or task evaluation sandboxes (collectively, the "Services"), you enter into a legally binding contract with AnnotateAI Technologies Inc. ("AnnotateAI", "we", "our", or "us"), a corporation organized under the laws of the State of California with headquarters in San Francisco, CA. If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, you must immediately discontinue all use of our Services.

  • You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to establish an account.
  • Your continued use following any periodic updates signifies unconditional acceptance of revised terms.
  • Corporate or enterprise accounts represent and warrant that the authorizing individual holds requisite signatory authority.

To access our copilot annotation suites, token wallets, and multi-model arena, you must create a registered account with accurate, current, and complete information. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your authentication credentials and API access keys.

  • Account sharing across independent freelance evaluators is strictly prohibited without multi-seat authorization.
  • You must notify security@annotate.ai immediately upon discovering any unauthorized account breach.
  • AnnotateAI reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide fraudulent or synthetic identity data.

AnnotateAI operates on a transparent pay-per-bundle token economy. Users purchase discrete token allowances (e.g., Starter 5,000 Tokens, Pro 15,000 Tokens, Super Pack 55,000 Tokens) to power LLM inference, synthetic reviewer cross-examinations, and laser scans.

  • All prices are listed in United States Dollars (USD) and exclude applicable local sales taxes.
  • Token packs are sold on a per-bundle basis without recurrent hidden subscriptions or auto-debit traps.
  • Due to immediate provisioning of compute across frontier model clusters (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI), consumed tokens are non-refundable once inference execution commences.
  • Unused bundle tokens remain active on your account without arbitrary expiration windows unless terminated for policy violation.

AnnotateAI is an independent productivity suite and assistive intelligence sandbox designed for freelance data annotators, AI evaluators, and prompt engineers. We are not officially affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by third-party data annotation platforms, freelance client marketplaces, or AI research labs.

  • You retain ultimate contractual responsibility for adhering to the specific client guidelines and rubrics of your third-party contracting platforms.
  • AnnotateAI functions as a human-in-the-loop verification aid; human annotators remain the authoritative ground truth.
  • All third-party trademarks, company names, and logos displayed on AnnotateAI belong strictly to their respective owners.

You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights in and to the specific human reasoning, annotations, and evaluation justifications that you create using our tooling. AnnotateAI does not claim copyright or title to your human evaluation outputs.

  • AnnotateAI retains all rights, title, and interest in our proprietary algorithms, UI designs, and laser scan architecture.
  • We do not sell customer evaluation inputs or use customer proprietary prompts to train public foundation models without explicit consent.
  • Model outputs generated by integrated third-party foundation models are subject to their respective upstream terms.

The Services are provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by California law, AnnotateAI disclaims all express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

  • Under no circumstances shall AnnotateAI be liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages.
  • Our cumulative aggregate liability for all claims arising out of these terms shall not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the total amount paid by you in the 3 months preceding the event.

These Terms and any dispute arising from your relationship with AnnotateAI shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and the United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

  • Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contract shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in San Francisco, California.
  • You agree to resolve disputes strictly on an individual basis and waive any right to initiate or join class-action litigation.
  • The state and federal courts located within the City and County of San Francisco, California shall have exclusive jurisdiction for injunctive relief claims.

You agree that you will not use AnnotateAI to generate, store, or transmit content that violates federal, California state, or international laws.

  • Malicious Prompts: Crafting jailbreaks designed to bypass foundation model safety guardrails or generate instructions for cyberattacks, weapons, or physical harm.
  • Exploitative Content: Generating child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual sexual imagery, or harassment vectors.
  • Automated Click Fraud: Using headless bots or unauthorized scrapers to artificially exhaust free tier evaluation quotas or spoof referral rewards.

ANNOTATEAI ETHICAL CHARTER

AI Ethics & Evaluator Integrity Policy

Effective 30 June 2026. Guiding human annotators on maintaining intellectual rigor, transparency, and authentic benchmark quality in human-in-the-loop workflows.

Frontier artificial intelligence relies fundamentally on human judgment for alignment and truth. AnnotateAI exists to augment human cognitive clarity, not to replace thoughtful human evaluation with mindless synthetic regurgitation.

  • The annotator remains solely responsible for the accuracy and veracity of any final evaluation submitted to contracting platforms.
  • Copilot analysis should be treated as an advisory second opinion, subject to human scrutiny and verification.
  • Evaluators must actively verify model citations and facts before adopting them into client justifications.

Submitting automated, unverified LLM output as genuine human evaluation degrades model training datasets and directly endangers evaluator platform standings.

  • Never copy-paste raw LLM outputs into third-party evaluation rubrics without critical review.
  • Utilize the Laser Scan and Multi-Model Arena to identify subtle logic discrepancies rather than accepting first-pass claims.
  • Maintain independent domain expertise in your specialized annotation modalities (coding, math, creative writing, video analysis).

Third-party contracting evaluation platforms enforce detailed, project-specific rubrics. Annotators must ensure that custom client constraints supersede generic model assumptions.

  • Where client rubrics mandate specific formatting, follow client specifications without deviation.
  • Respect client confidentiality: never upload confidential source code or unreleased client model outputs into unapproved public chat sandboxes.

ANNOTATEAI CYBERSECURITY

Data Protection & Security Policy

Effective 30 June 2026. Overview of our cryptographic safeguards, infrastructure resiliency, and San Francisco data stewardship standards.

AnnotateAI enforces defense-in-depth cybersecurity protocols engineered to protect customer workloads against interception, unauthorized extraction, and loss.

  • Encryption in Transit: All data exchanged with our servers is protected with TLS 1.3 protocols utilizing modern cipher suites.
  • Encryption at Rest: Database volumes, user records, and session tokens are encrypted using AES-256 standard encryption keys managed via hardware security modules.
  • Zero-Trust Architecture: Internal access to production infrastructure requires multi-factor authentication, device authorization, and just-in-time privilege escalation.

We collaborate strictly with certified cloud hosting providers and enterprise AI model clusters that adhere to rigorous data protection standards.

  • Cloud Hosting: Tier-IV data centers located within the United States with SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 certifications.
  • Payment Gateways: Certified PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processors handle all credit card transactions.
  • Zero Retention Agreements: We negotiate zero-day retention and non-training terms with upstream model providers whenever technically supported.

In accordance with California Civil Code Section 1798.82, in the event of an unauthorized security incident compromising unencrypted personal information, AnnotateAI will notify affected consumers and relevant regulatory authorities without unreasonable delay.
